Must have strong laboratory skills and experience and able to perform operational duties associated with operations of a wastewater treatment plant.
Required Knowledge
Working knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations and occupational hazards. Knowledge of standard laboratory tests, procedures and familiar with hydraulic, chemical, and mechanical principles pertinent to wastewater treatment plant operations is desired.
Required Experience
High school graduate and Certification as a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be able to perform technical, administrative, and managerial work. Experience in planning, organizing, and directing the operation, maintenance and analysis of a Wastewater Plant.
Required Knowledge
Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of wastewater treatment, and strong laboratory skills. Thorough knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relating to wastewater treatment. Must have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. A level 4 certification to operate a wastewater treatment plant issued by the State of North Carolina is required. Hold or able to obtain a Land Application of Bio Solids certification.
Required Experience
Graduation from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years experience in wastewater treatment operations, with supervisory experience, or any combination of education and experience that demonstrate job knowledge.

The City of Mount Holly Utility Department will be conducting maintenance on the I-85 (South Tank) Water Tank on February 24 thru 28. The maintenance will consist of a routine cleaning of the interior of the tank. This tank services the Catawba Heights area of Mount Holly and the customers should not have any interruption in water service. Costumers may experience High/Low water pressure, discolored water, and/or air in the lines. All questions are to be directed to the City of Mount Holly at 704- 827-3943 for after hours and emergency call 980-522-0202.
