The solid Waste department came from humble beginnings of being housed in a small out-building, one flat bed truck and 2 employees. Today the city has a fleet of 6 specialized garbage collection vehicles, 17 fulltime employees and has taken over the entire compound the out-building office was located . We as a city have gone from the dumping of garbage onto a flat bed truck to  backyard pick up to 96 gallon wheeled curbside containers.

The Solid Waste Division is responsible for the collection and removal of garbage within the city limits of Mount Holly. Our services include once a week household garbage pickup, bulky items, and yard waste.

The City of Mount Holly’s Solid Waste Departments objective is to provide you, our citizens, with the best possible management of solid waste, our common problem.

There is no person, young or old, rich or poor, who does not have to deal with GARBAGE. How well we do will affect our health, our business, our appearance, and our pride in our city
