DEPUTY FINANCE DIRECTOR

GENERAL DEFINITION AND CONDITIONS OF WORK: Performs a variety of professional functions in the preparation and maintenance of financial records; does relatedwork as required. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Finance Director.

This is sedentary work requiring the exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects; work requires stooping, reaching, fingering, grasping, and repetitive motions; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is not subject to adverse environmental conditions.

RECREATION MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Plans, supervises and participates in the maintenance and grounds keeping activities of the Parks and Recreation Department; performs related duties as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This employee plans and schedules and participates in the daily operations and maintenance of City parks and recreation facilities and equipment. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for keeping ground and equipment in safe working order. This employee directs the work of Maintenance Technicians and instructs them in the manner of performing the work as well as reviewing their work in progress and upon completion. The work is performed under the direction of the Assistant City Manager and is reviewed for results obtained and consistency with departmental policy. Supervision is exercised over paid and volunteer personnel.

AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs skilled work in the repair and maintenance of motor vehicles & equipment; performs related duties as required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Responsible for maintenance of the City's automotive, truck and equipment fleet. The Automotive Mechanic must assure that vehicles are in proper working order and that maintenance is scheduled and performed routinely. This employee maintains an inventory of equipment and parts in order to perform maintenance and repair tasks. This employee makes determinations as to the safety of vehicles and when they are no longer viable for use. The work is performed under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Streets and Solid Waste and is reviewed for results obtained and consistency with standard practices.

Human Resources Assistant

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs professional level, technical work in support of the Human Resources Director and Human Resources functions for the City. Responsible for providing technical and administrative support to staff and employees, responds to questions from outside sources; performs personnel duties in the areas of employment processing and personnel records management; provides information and assistance regarding human resources activities, processes, policies, and procedures; researches policies, laws, and procedures to answer questions and respond to requests for information. Supports recruiting efforts and interview processes in support of all City Departments; tracks information such as FMLA, payroll changes, benefit elections and changes; utilizes HRIS to process personnel actions for payroll and/or for employee history such as new hires, salary changes, employee information changes, transfers, terminations, etc.

Conducts New Hire Orientation, explains benefits and helps employees in completing initial enrollment forms; completes employment verifications and surveys verbally and in writing; initiates exit interview process; prepares a variety of reports as required;

Maintenance Technician

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Maintenance Technician.  a Maintenance Technician performs repairs, preventative maintenance and general cleaning work in City owned buildings. This employee is responsible for operating equipment and tools necessary for the repair and cleaning of city owned buildings. Work includes minor electrical, plumbing, and carpentry work as well as landscaping and lawn maintenance duties. This employee works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

This position involves work requiring the employee to occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and less force frequently to move objects. Physical activity related to this position may include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, hearing, and repetitive motions. Sufficient visual acuity is required to use measurement devices, assemble or fabricate parts at distances close to the eye, and visually inspect small devices for flaws. An employee in this position may be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions; vibration; the hazards of working in high places or near moving mechanical parts; function in narrow aisles or passageways; and fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation. An employee in this position could be "reasonably anticipated" as a result of performing their job duties to face contact with blood and other potentially infectious materials.

Recreation Aide (part-time)

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Recreation Aide (part-time, fewer than 20 hours per week). The Recreation Aide conducts a variety of programs and activities in a recreation center or similar facility; performs related duties as required.

This position implements the programs and activities held at a recreation center including activities for youth and adults. This employee is also responsible for the maintenance of the facilities and assuring that the necessary equipment is available for patrons. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Recreation Program Supervisor.

Police Telecommunicator

We are currently seeking to fill the position of Police Communicator. The successful candidate performs communications and varied clerical work for the police function in the community; performs related duties as required. An employee in this class receives incoming routine and emergency calls, dispatches and maintains contact with police units, and calls other agencies for mutual aid as required. Operates dispatch equipment, computer terminal connected to the Division of Criminal Information (DCI) and the National Crime Information Center. Work also involves the performance of detailed record keeping, monitoring alarms and data entry of police reports. Work requires frequent public contact that requires tact, firmness and decisiveness and judgement in obtaining necessary information from people who are under stress and choosing appropriate courses of action.
