Our Park Plan
Parks and active recreation amenities are vital components to the health and overall happiness of a community. Studies have consistently shown that quality parks and recreation systems improve the quality of life for their residents and provide equitable growth opportunities and economic returns for municipalities. Parks, greenways, and the natural spaces surrounding them provide opportunities for exercise and play, create connections throughout the community, and strengthen the culture of the area. In Mount Holly, parks and the natural environment have been made a priority. This is signified by the City slogan, "connecting community and nature."

The original Parks and Recreation Master Plan was developed in 2001 as part of the Land Development Plan. An update was completed in 2010. This plan is the next iteration, providing parks and recreation goals and guidelines as Mount Holly continues to grow.
