SAFETY IS OUR PRIMARY CONCERN
In light of recent events and as part of our continued commitment to public safety, please note the following items that have been put in place for this year's event:

-Candy cannot be thrown from vehicles/floats. Walkers may toss or hand candy to parade watchers. Please have them stand close to the crowd as they distribute candy in an effort to deter children from running into the parade route

-Cones and roping will be placed along Main Street and Central Ave as part of the crowd management strategy

-Officers and Event Staff will be located at strategic locations to assist with drop-off, loading, parade flow, and any other situations that may arise

-The entire parade route will be protected by barricades, cones, and MHPD officers

-Lighting down Main Street (ex. up-lit trees and market lights on Main Street) as well as additional construction lighting will be in place in key locations around the downtown area

-An updated parade route has been implemented to assist with easier end-of-parade gathering of children and float riders in safe, well-lit locations

-At participant drop-off points, police officers will perform checks to ensure that motorized entries are mechanically sound

-The Mount Police Department Tent and First Aid Station will be located on Main Street in front of Stowe Insurance

-Event Staff will be clearly visible by wearing neon safety vests
