Mount Holly Police Introduces New Senior Check Program to Ensure Well-being of Citizens
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Mount Holly, August 22, 2023 - The Mount Holly Police Department is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative aimed at enhancing the safety and well-being of senior citizens within the community. Beginning Friday, August 25, 2023, the Senior Check Program will provide regular check-ins for individuals living alone who lack daily in-person interactions with family members, caretakers, or friends. The primary objective of the Senior Check Program is to offer peace of mind to both senior citizens and their families. The program will consist of daily checks performed Monday through Friday, ensuring that those living independently receive the attention and support they need.
By providing regular contact and assistance, the Mount Holly Police Department seeks to foster a sense of security and connection among seniors who may be at risk of isolation. "We understand the importance of ensuring the safety and well-being of our senior citizens, especially those who live alone," said Chief of Police, Brian Reagan. "The Senior Check Program reflects our commitment to serving the community and looking out for the most vulnerable members among us. This initiative aligns with our values of community care and proactive policing."
In addition to the standard checks, the Senior Check Program will also cater to temporary needs such as post-surgery recovery. The Mount Holly Police Department is dedicated to accommodating individuals who require extra support during their healing process. Residents of Mount Holly who are interested in enrolling themselves or their family members in the Senior Check Program can do so by visiting the Mount Holly Police Department located at 400 East Central Avenue. Alternatively, individuals can contact Michelle Nichols, Program Coordinator, at (704) 951-0068 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
